Whilst visiting Cosentino plant, British designer Ron Arad had a vision. A vision of what he could create with the fantastic Silestone® quartz surfaces.

From that point on, the concept of a concave surface for ping-pong playing was generated, composed by 10 layers of Silestone® out of four different colours: Iconic White (white hue), Kensho (light grey), Cemento Spa (dark grey) and Negro Tebas (black hue).

At CuellarStone headquarters, these slabs were studied, cut and shaped into curves in all directions, thanks to high tech numerical control machinery, in order to achieve the exact result excepted by the artist.

Last 11th May 2018, during Mutua Madrid Open at Caja Magica, took place the official presentation for 10 LAYERS sculptural ping-pong table, delighting the audience.

On our part, we couldn’t feel prouder of the result, especially after witnessing the satisfaction of the artist Ron Arad in person. It has been a fascinating challenge, one of those works that makes you go out of your comfort zone and get bigger within your possibilities.
